I’m Grace Chan. I’m a speculative fiction writer and doctor. I write about the impact of technology on identity and relationships. I also scribble tales of outer space and alien worlds and creepy places where the real and the unconscious bleed together.
My debut novel, Every Version of You, was released last year. It has been shortlisted for The Age Book of the Year and the NSW Premier’s Literary Awards, and longlisted for the Stella Prize. It has also garnered a bunch of lovely reviews, and apparently made many readers cry—although I swear it’s not all glum!
You can find my short stories, appearances, and more on my website.
My other interests include salt-and-vinegar anything and secretly filming my friends’ NYE karaoke highlights. I am terrible at conveying sarcasm. In a decaffeinated state, I may cease to exist.
If you want to hear about my writing updates, do subscribe to this newsletter! I also plan to include writing excerpts, reading recommendations, and reflections about this wild writing journey.
I loathe spam, and won’t add to it. I will only send this newsletter out when I have significant updates, no more than once a month.
